The mount clip showed up damaged, I did not wish to wait since I need the mount for my GPS now, since I am traveling out of town. I am unhappy with the problems encountered with this mount on arrival, but I have spent the time to fix the issue with the mount itself with a new bracket I had to weld and grind a new base. I am sure if you order the mount it will work with your GPS, but regardless I had to modified it with a new metal clip for my motorcycle. I have no desire to return it, I would just not recommend buying another mount from this company in the future.

The case is too small for the Garmin Vista Hcx. The case fits so tightly over the unit that it causes buttons to activate without being pressed. Additionally, the window does not align well with the Vista Hcx window.

I tried getting this cover on my unit Vista HCx three times...it took that many attempts to get the buttons and windows even close to lining up. The lowest button on the left side doesn't even show up in the window. When trying to get the unit out of the cover, I noticed the stick was being pulled way out of its socket, certainly leading to a button failure in the near future. I won't put this thing on my unit again. I won't even try it in the field.

My garmin does not line up well in the case. It is always off center. since I often use the USB cable, it is a chore to take it the GPS out of the case all the time. The front side thumb button doesn't like coming out of that hole. I will probably end up getting a different case in the near future.

This case is a good thing for an expensive GPS receiver. This is the only one that I have been able to find that covers the whole unit, including the screen and buttons. The windows are a little misplaced so that the buttons do not fall completely within the window, but they are still useable. It would be perfect if the included plastic clip thing was removable, but there is just enough room to slip a carabiner through the loop. The case will also make it hard to change the batteries or use the data cable. The unit will have to be removed from the case (which is quite an operation) to allow the cable to be plugged in or the back to be removed.

This is the type of case Garmin should have made for their units, and if they did I suspect it would be well made. Unfortunately the Gilsson case is quite poorly made. After 5 months of moderate use the stitching holding the screen window started to come apart. Gilsson said this was normal wear and tear and would not honor their warranty (and didn't bother to send the case back to me). Also the hole around the click stick was starting to tear and the velcro loop was starting to get warn.

The negative comments about this unit are true. It's flimsy. Does not stay secure in the plug. Falls over when making turns. Sags under the weight of the ipod. I'm using it now but will replace it when I can find something better.

This mount is perfect for me. In case you didn't see it before from other reviews, it DOES NOT power your ipod. I plugs into the powerport in your vehicle and holds it wherever you need to position it to. No problems with mine yet and I have had it for over a month. It doesn't move around on me or anything like that, and I have the ratchet part loose enough that I can just pull the ipod out without having to loosen it anymore, but tight enough that it wont fall out either. I am actually very happy with this mount.

**I've included 2 pictures with this review. See the main profile image and scroll to them**

I'm using the "Kensington Power Port Car" in conjunction with the "Kensington LiquidAUX Auxiliary Car Kit w/ Remote" and it's the best solution I have ever found. I decided to use the combination of both units instead of the all in one unit "Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe Auxiliary Car Kit with Remote", because the 8-pin dock connector wouldn't allow for the flexibility of a thick case to be connected to it.

The goose neck on the Kensington Power Port Car is sturdy enough to support the weight of the iPhone even with the "Defender Series" by OtterBox case I have attached, weighing in at 6.7 ounces, as it sits in the dock and also when I turn the vehicle. I needed a solution that I can quickly plug and dock my iPhone with its case intact into a unit that can support the weight and the recessed power port location of my car. The dock I used previously was the "TuneFlex AUX SmartClick" and it would always fall out of the power port when I turned the vehicle, which was always so frustrating.

I'm using the power port pass-through to connect a Vector 3-N-1 Socket System so I can get back the flexibility of multiple sockets. One of the sockets is powering the auxiliary car kit.

The adjustable side clamps that expand and collapse to fit the iPhone is perfect, because with mine I have it adjusted so the iPhone can slip into it and out of it with very little effort.

I have no complaints with this device and highly recommend it.
