Ironically I think this is more durable than the Garmin version that came with the unit I purchased. The original broke within two months of purchase and this one has taken its fair share of abuse by the family and still holding strong a year later!

Warning – This plugs in the unit only through the GPS holder, no good on its own. GPS holders seem to cost $40 area, please share if u see anything cheaper

From the description I thought I needed it but the power charger was included with my Garmin Nuvi 760. I still have the power adapter, never used it so far since it is just easier to take the Nuvi with its power charger from one car to the other.
